CHRISTOPHER TITUS - NEVERLUTION

CHRISTOPHER TITUS - NEVERLUTION

After taking on family, Armageddon and most recently divorce, Christopher Titus is taking on society's complacence and offers solutions that only he could come up with. Interweaving his personal experiences, Titus calls for a revolution against technology, politics, racism, child worship and the prescription drug companies, a revolution he argues we will never have because we are fat, lazy and scared. In Neverlution, Christopher Titus promises to fix the world's problems, one hilarious rant at a time.

Emmy and Obie Award-winning performer John Leguizamo thrills audiences as he gets up close and personal in his new, uncensored, uninhibited tour-de-force. Klass Klown explodes with energy in the trademark style Leguizamo brought to outrageous shows such as Freak, Sexaholix and Spic-O-Rama. He takes audiences on a nonstop fever-pitch adventure, heating up the stage with vivid accounts of where he’s been and the colorful characters that shaped his life. From his adolescence in New York to the outrageous theatre scene of the ‘80s to anecdotes about major movies and roles opposite Hollywood’s biggest stars, Klass Klown is in turns uproarious and heartfelt. Leguizamo lays it bare for anyone that comes along for the ride.

John Leguizamo’s first solo shows, Mambo Mouth and Spic-O-Rama, became off-Broadway sensations. The next two—Freak and Sexaholix—hit Broadway before being made into successful films. Leguizamo has been seen in countless movies including Casualties of War, Dr. Doolittle, Moulin Rouge, Summer of Sam and William Shakespeare’s Romeo + Juliet.

STUFFED AND UNSTRUNG is a madcap multimedia romp in which the skilled art of puppetry and comedic intelligent nonsense collide. Unpredictable, irreverent and rebellious, it’s never the same show twice as a team of expert puppeteers sets off on a trail of twisted sketches and songs at breakneck pace while interaction with the audience prompts the spontaneous storylines developing on stage.

STUFFED AND UNSTRUNG has evolved from Henson’s previous production “Puppet Up! – Uncensored,” which made its debut at the 2006 HBO Comedy Festival (Aspen, CO), and later toured the 2006 Edinburgh Festival (Edinburgh, Scotland), The 2007 Comedy Festival (Las Vegas, NV) and Australia’s Sydney Big Laugh Comedy Festival and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival (both 2007). Most recently, Puppet Up continued to be workshopped at monthly performances at Avalon Hollywood. The New York engagement of STUFFED AND UNSTRUNG marks the debut of a completely revamped production featuring all new technical wizardry and original music and staging.

"Has there ever been a day when the comedian Lewis Black didn't get up on the wrong side of bed? Acting like a grumpy grizzly prematurely roused from slumber, he vents his frustration at the absurdities of the world in roars of profanity, waving his arms as though conjuring divine intervention.

But, as loudly a this riled-up grizzly may roar, his blustering misanthropy camouflages an underlying streak of sweetness; at heart, he is a benign Papa Bear waiting for the world to come to its senses. Unitl then, his bad mood seems likely to get worse."
- The New York Times

"At 61, the spleen-venting comedian is only getting bitter - that is to say, better -- with age. Witness a comedy of expert modulations, subtle time-signature changes and just-right rhythms. To tune in only to the distemper, one missed the very music."
- The Washington Post

Billy Connolly Live for TWO night only at The Bagley Wright Theatre at Seattle Center - 155 Mercer Street, Seattle, Washington

Fri March 12 - 8.00pm
Sat March 13 - 8.00pm

Direct from a 4-week Sold Out run at London's Hammersmith Apollo Theatre Billy Connolly is back conquering America alone on stage with a microphone, and bringing his oxygen-depriving take on all things taboo here to the Seattle Repertory.

Critics have hailed him as ‘a genius’, 'a comic legend', 'brilliantly funny' and 'a superstar.' They've called his comedy 'priceless, non-stop laughter verging on tears' and 'a must see night of comedy - he's fantastic, charming, rude and above all - hilarious.'

A Superstar across the globe, he's broken box office records from the UK to New Zealand, Austalia, Ireland, New York and Canada. The demand for tickets was so high during his recent tour of Scotland that ordering websites crashed the day tickets went on sale.

Best known in the United States for his starring role in the popular 1980’s sitcom Head of the Class, Connolly most recently appeared in the X-Files sequel feature film X-Files: I want to Believe and the cult classic Boondock Saints II – All Saint’s day, and will next be seen in the upcoming film Gulliver's Travels with Jack Black and Jason Segel.

3- 1/2 STARS! (out of 4) Irresistible! Connolly's good -natured outrage is as laugh inducing as it is clever. I pretty much lost it, he could get away with reciting the dictionary - the man's a riot!" L.A. Daily News

"Unmitigated Brilliance! This is a bladder-challenging Tour de Force and funnier than anything you'll see on stage this year."

[Untitled Streb Project] is a new theatrical movement extravaganza created by John D. & Catherine T. MacArthur Genius Grant recipient, choreographer Elizabeth Streb. Streb's form of daredevil action harnesses the invisible forces of gravity, friction, velocity, and momentum to tell the story of a renegade group of young movers and thinkers. When you risk believing everything is possible, you can do anything – you can change your life, and you can even fly.

HISTORY OF STREB:

Founded in 1979, STREB tours extensively throughout the United States and internationally presenting performances and residencies and conducts year-round activity at its home studio/laboratory, the STREB ACTION INVENTION LAB, located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

STREB opened the ACTION LAB in January 2003. Housed in a former warehouse, the ACTION LAB is the company’s creative and educational center where new productions are mounted, classes for children and adults are taught in the POP ACTION School and all company activities – rehearsals, demonstrations, workshops – are open to the public.
The company is committed to presenting its work in traditional and non-traditional venues and has been seen in public spaces throughout New York and across the country in such venues as Vanderbilt Hall in New York’s Grand Central Terminal, the Winter Garden of the World Financial Center in New York, in front of the Cyclone at Coney Island, on the mall outside the Smithsonian Institution, during a Minneapolis Twins and New York Yankees game at the Minnesota Metrodome, in the Anchorage under the Brooklyn Bridge, during intermission of the International Squash Tournament finals and at the State of Illinois Center in Chicago.

The company has received numerous awards including annual support from the National Endowment for the Arts, the New York State Council on the Arts and the NY City Department of Cultural Affairs. Throughout its history, STREB has been widely recognized by the philanthropic community and has received major support from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the Booth Ferris Foundation, the Open Society Institute, the Carnegie Corporation, the New England Foundation for the Arts, the Irvine Foundation, the New York Community Trust/Wallace Funds, Target, Chase and Philip Morris, to name a few. Over the years, several company dancers have been honored with Bessie New York Dance and Performance Awards.

STREB has been seen on the David Letterman Show, CBS Sunday Morning, CNN Showbiz Today, Nickolodeon, NBC’s Weekend Today, MTV, ABC Nightly News with Peter Jennings and on Larry King Live.

whose legend will last a lunchtime

The concert has been devised and directed by Eric Idle. The music and lyrics by are Neil Innes. RUTLEMANIA is produced by WestBeth Entertainment. These performances are part of the 30th anniversary celebrations of The Rutles.
Eric Idle said, “Finally -- nostalgia for things that never existed – with Mersey Boys, real girls, singing and dancing, and exotic tea drinking! I am sure this is soon to be a major lawsuit - and I suggest you hurry and buy a ticket so you can see it before it stops.”
The Rutles were first immortalized on screen by semi-legendary Monty Python alum Eric Idle, and Saturday Night Live Lorne Michaels in the 1978 Classic mockumentary “All You Need is Cash” (available on DVD from Broadway Video) and re-immortalized in the sequel, “Can’t Buy Me Lunch.” These ground-breaking films began an entire genre of mockumentary film making.
